Jess Gronholm, Founder and Yoga Director
Prior to developing Dirty Yoga Co., Jess was the national yoga director for Crunch gyms, where he taught thousands of students, trained over 300 teachers, and developed yoga programs for 32 gyms. He has more than ten years of experience in teaching yoga and over five years in general group fitness. In other words, he’s totally yoga-ed and fitness-ed up.
Jess, in former careers, worked as the director of advertising for an online publishing firm and spent ten glamorous years as an international fashion model. He currently lives—much less glamorously—in New York City. His goal in starting Dirty Yoga was to provide yoga to people who should be doing yoga but aren’t, because they’re too busy, too put-off by yoga stereotypes, or too male.
Susi Rajah, Founder and Creative Director
Prior to creating Dirty Yoga Co., Susi spent her first career working internationally as an award-winning art director and copywriter in advertising. Since then, she has played key roles in the creation of several (and also award-winning) products/brands in London and New York. Dirty Yoga is the most recent result of her 20 years of experience in branding.
Susi is the author of three books, including the non-fiction “How to Spot a Bastard by His Star Sign” and the novel “The Gospel According to Sydney Welles”. She is published internationally, in several languages. Her native language is Australian, which is sort of like English, which is sort of like American. She currently lives in New York City. Her goals in starting Dirty Yoga Co. were to provide yoga that was less about lotus blossoms and more about accessibility, and to get some exercise—though not in that order.
